Meet Kimi Shigetani, Chief Operating Officer

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I grew up in Hawaii and then moved to Washington state.  I now live in northern California outside of Sacramento.

What do you do at FLO?

I aim to help streamline our processes, operations, and systems.

What’s rewarding about your job?

Being able to see the impact I can have.

Why is what you do important?

Identifying what we can do to make everyone’s job easier and more efficient is important for a productive, satisfying culture. Happy team = happy clients.

What skills do you bring to your work?

Immense amounts of curiosity, patience, and organizational skills.

What’s the best advice you’ve received from a work colleague?

Being a working parent is like juggling too many balls—some of the balls will break if you drop them, and some of them will bounce.  When things get overwhelming, you have to figure out which ones will bounce and let those go and try to not drop the ones that will break.

If you were not a chief operating officer, what would you be?

If I had to pick a new occupation, I would either be a teacher or a stay-at-home dog mom.

What’s on your bucket list?

Kimi and her family at Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park.

Traveling! Anywhere it is not snowing.
